wow. great shot! I haven't actually tried shooting any type of night shots... do you use a tripod? what setting?

Thanks! Yes, I used a tripod and it's necessary when your working with long exposure shots. For this particular shot I used a 2,8 aperture and a 22 second exposure, iso 100 to avoid as much noise as possible. But when it comes to photographing stars the settings all depend on the situation so it's good to just play around with the settings and see what works best for your picture.
